Borders MSPs held their annual meeting with members of Borders Care Voice on Monday 18th February, at Triest House in Galashiels.

Christine Grahame, MSP for Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale, and Rachael Hamilton, MSP for Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire, attended the Q & A event. They are pictured with Gordon Forsyth, chair of Borders Care Voice.

Claudia Beamish, South Scotland MSP, was unable to attend but submitted responses to questions in advance.

The charity’s members raised a number of issues that affect people locally in relation to health and social care. They included welfare benefits, care alarms, community transport and care at home.

Chief Officer Jenny Smith said: “We were delighted to once again get the opportunity to raise our concerns, and those of our members and service user and carer groups, with our local representatives.

“As always, this proved to be a useful and productive session, and we are grateful for the support of our MSPs, their input and their resolve to look at how they can help.”
