Audit Scotland is encouraging people who use self-directed support (SDS) to share their experiences in a new survey.

SDS aims to ensure people have more choice and control of their social care support – including where, when and how they receive services. At the same time, the social care sector faces challenges such as budget pressures and increasing demand.

Audit Scotland is looking at how well councils, integration authorities and the Scottish Government are implementing the policy .

The report, which is scheduled to be published in summer 2017, will follow up on the 2014 audit, which found that councils still had a substantial amount of work to do to make SDS a success.
